Description

It was through God's direction, guidance and providence that Mary Ann Gove Cheatham contacted me through Facebook which led me to know that she had hundreds of humorous stories on cooking, family and history published in several newspapers in Cottonwood, Camp Verde, and Sedona Arizona area through her weekly columns. With the permission of Robert B. Larson, Publisher; Kyle Larson, General Manager; and Christopher Fox Graham, Managing Editor of Larson Newspapers, LLC in Arizona, like The Camp Verde JOURNAL, Sedona Red Rock NEWS, Cottonwood JOURNAL Extra, we selected some of these humorous articles and columns for inclusion in PART I of "LAUGHTER FOR GOOD HEALTH." For PART II of "LAUGHTER FOR GOOD HEALTH," I wrote and selected humorous anecdotes and jokes on events, personalities and world leaders. Jokes and stories are best understood and enjoyed if they are simple and brief. I had strived to write the anecdotes and jokes in layman's language, in simple words, short sentences and short paragraphs. Most of the anecdotes, jokes and stories in PART II are true to life, gathered from experiences of FRANC (Friends, Relatives, Acquaintances, Neighbors, Co-Workers); and expe- iv riences of judges, lawyers, barbers, politicians, doctors, religious leaders, taxi drivers, laborers and people from all walks of life. Included in PART II are few jokes and stories of great men like Confucius, Jose P. Rizal, Manuel L. Quezon, Abraham Lincoln, Carlos P. Romulo, Thomas Edison, and noted personalities like Margaret Thatcher, Deng Xiaoping, Henry Ford, J. Paul Getty, Napoleon Bonaparte, Lee Kuan Yew, Chamlong, Marcus Cicero, Camilo Osias, Arsenio Lacson and others. Also included in PART II are excerpts from the columns of Jose L. Guevara, an outstanding columnist and one of the foremost wits of the Philippines. Considering that "good humor is one of the best articles of dress one can wear in society," you can thus 'wear' humorous anecdotes, jokes and stories in this book for various occasions. In so doing, you will never find a dull moment with your FRANC (Friends, Relatives, Acquaintances, Neighbors, Co-Workers). This book is good for your health! Enjoy it!!
