Twenty-nine-year-old Vikki Lansing and her husband Jim spend every hurricane season in Key West, Florida, poring over old charts and manifests of recorded shipwrecks. Vikki's biological clock is tick-tocking away, while Jim is driven to find his fortune on the bottom of the sea. One night during the storm season, a discrepancy in the facts surrounding a sunken, 1822 Spanish fishing vessel catches their eye and they decide to find out if the crew was really fishing. Or not... Refurbishing their new-to-them sailing boat with all they would need to haul a treasure up from the sea floor, they set out on a mission. The Zephyr is a sturdy, dependable craft and carries them toward their plotted destination near Misteriosa Bank equidistant from Mexico, Honduras, and Cuba. Along the way, they encounter ruthless, modern-day pirates bent on taking whatever they want, hungry sharks, and storms that seem intent on making kindling out of their boat. Will they find the Fallen Angel's final resting place and discover what she was really doing on the high seas? Or will the Angel's legacy forever remain a mystery?
