These letters were the beginning of what Mia intended as her most ambitious work, a full volume of letters written to her favorite writer, Henry Miller. In fifty letters, Mia planned to tell of her life and loves, of her triumphs and failures, of her artistry and her beliefs, the story of her life, which ended far too soon. The first ten have been lightly copy-edited, at Mia's direction and with Mia's approval. Those that follow are first drafts, published here just as Mia wrote them on MiaLovesHenryMiller.wordpress.com, and which are still online as of July 2018. But none of the fifty are in the final form the Letters would have taken. Mia grew dissatisfied with some aspects of her approach and intended a full reworking, but the time for that was not given to her. And that is our loss. Here, however, is what we do have, and all we will ever have: Mia's voice, Mia's words, Mia's story.
