This is a book of personal refection on my life as a thoughtful Mormon, often riding the edge of the herd, but remaining engaged and faithful throughout. More than anything, this is a book of stories - all true to the extent that my memory is accurate. Having grown up in Provo, Utah, the heart of Mormon culture, in the 1950's and 60's, my childhood was both free and cloistered. My university level education was mostly secular at the University of Utah and I moved away from the centers of Zion after graduation. Experiences in the broader world have challenged much of the doctrines and practices of my upbringing while reinforcing many of the important practiced and perspectives of my faith. I hope the book explores the push-pull of attempting to keep one's moral groundings while learning and respecting the lessons of the wider cultures. My life has been full of wonderful adventures - many of the stories are nothing more than the pleasure of sharing and retelling those adventures
