In booming high tech Silicon Valley, Sheriff Rusty Carter loses interest in police work when his wife dies of cancer. After he retires, the Sureos gang, for unknown reasons, almost succeeds in murdering Rusty, who kills two gang-bangers in self-defense. Rusty turns to his former Department for help only to fi nd that the Sheriff s Department may be complicit. And a sleazy D.A. may be about to indict him for murder. Aware that he and his closet friends are in danger of assassination by the gangs, Rusty turns to his former allies in the FBI and the DEA. They inform him that Mexican Drug Cartels and the local Sureos have put out a contract on him. They advise him to disappear. But Rusty isnt about to be run out of town by gangsters. Working to fi nd out who has marked him for death and why, the ex-sheriff finds himself pondering preemptive strikes against his powerful enemies. Whack them before they whack you!
