His direct attack on George is foiled by a policeman with a billy club George Summoned, so he threatens George's friends Suzanne and Sally. While Suzanne is a Mage herself, Sally is just a teenaged girl, vulnerable to not just a Mage's power but to mundane threats as well.George has a mundane problem himself. A ten year old boy, even one who is a powerful Mage, is not allowed by the State of New York to live by himself without a grownup around - he needs a guardian and he needs to live with his guardian. If his father becomes his guardian, he will make George move to San Francisco. Lawyers have a special magic of their own.
