In turn, the wealthiest 1 percent of the population sits on top of a morally indefensible sociopolitical pyramid procured by campaign contributions and other "kickbacks" to politicians. This book describes how the optic of democracy was transformed from an American Dream to a Nightmare for the less privileged majority in the last three decades.
