Poetry has wings to travel the world./ It knows different languages, / denounces evil, / speaks of love./ It also walks through the streets/ and approaches sensitive people/ in its continuous struggle./ Sometimes the mud covers it/ but it also emerges/ from the warm breeze of the forest /that spreads it everywhere. The author" Poetry is the expression of the soul, open seas that do not know shores, it takes flight, and scapes through storms or, thoughtful, falls next to an open window. That is just what happens in the pages of this book of poems; Pure feeling, uprooting and nostalgia that dances between the verses to touch the sensitiive fibers of any exiled. My small green house of a girl's dreams/ plays in the backyard/ under the mango tree/ which on each harvest/ used to spill fruits for our hunger. Emerald island, today I leave /with a skin pierced wound./ My heart cries /to leave my old ones/ sick and aged. Maria gives us a handful of poems that will leave traces because they were the disguised truth.
