Blake and Laura are struggling to make ends meet. She works and he studies fulltime. Blake's destiny is drastically altered after a chance meeting with, Carminda, a wealthy clairvoyant. He introduces her to the modelling industry, so she leaves her admin job and joins the world of glamour as a fashion model. Blake's friend, Jared, discovers his true identity, after a harrowing kidnapping incident on his uncle's farm. He discovers that he is related to the beautiful Carminda and her twin sister, Shannon. Rene is a successful rock n roll artist. He is part of a famous band and he used to date Laura. At a birthday party thrown in Rene's honour, Laura meets Jacqueline, an old friend of Rene's. Jacqueline feels that she possesses spiritual powers and so she wants guidance to develop them. So Laura introduces her to Carminda. Jacqueline and Carminda eventually travel to Brazil, so that Jacqueline can discover her roots there and get guidance from a clairvoyant there. They venture into a bush there and visit a mysterious lady in a hut. Eventually Jacqueline has a spiritual experience at the edge of the river, where she experiences being swallowed up by a crocodile. Laura also goes to Brazil, at the same time and she does some modelling work in Rio de Janeiro. There she meets an obsessive celebrity, who later follows her to South Africa. He abducts her and forces her to accompany him on a trip to Greece.
