There is nothing new in the identification of Jy ""TT" (Khaziti or Haziti) with if (Gaza), for it was published by Mr. Layard in his work, "Discoveries in the Ruins of Nineveh and Babylon," p. 627, in the year 1853. It is now shown that the hard consonant sound of the Hebrew y occurs in the Assyrian language and that it is expressed by the consonant part of the syllabic sign kha. Thanks were returned for these communications.
