Illustrator Nakoma Volkman initiated Nakoma Art Traditions and is a traditional dancer and singer whose art and writings are devoted to sharing Native American values and spirituality. He has lectured, performed and presented educational programs for forty years, is enrolled with the National American Indian Enrollment Agency and is a founding member and retired chairman of the Native American Center of Southeastern Minnesota.
