Description

Until recently, I didn't have much desire to read the Bible but forced myself often as this is what I was told I should be doing. I went to church, listening to the sermons and lessons intently every Sunday as well as participating in several initiatives of the denomination. While I found some fulfillment in my Christian life, it seemed as though something major was missing. After becoming frustrated from seeing very little progress in my spiritual growth towards God, I began reading the Bible trying to figure out just what I might be missing. I decided to find out how to develop that deeper relationship or die trying. As I began to discover the good news of Jesus Christ and the apostles, I saw discrepancies with what I'd known all my life. These things seemed small at first. As I reviewed and contemplated the scriptures and contexts, I began seeing God's love shining through more and more brightly. What I am discovering is redefining me in the freedom of God's grace. It is my hope that this book will develop a hunger for God in those who are in a similar position as I was and also help those who may not be able to understand God based on modern Christianity and church life. Since as early as I can remember, I've been a heavily logical and introverted thinker. The Jungian personality type is INTP. I've always had a hard time relating to and carrying on a conversation with others especially within the church as I didn't know how to relate to them on an emotional level. Many of the things within the modern institutions didn't make much sense to me until I started actually reading the Bible by myself and leaning on the Holy Spirit's guidance. I have written down my journey and many of the Biblical truths I've been discovering. This book isn't meant to be a high level theological dissertation, but instead, a simple pointing out of God's grace and love for us from a logical viewpoint as it pertains to the Bible. I've attempted to answer many questions from the Bible that have either been asked of me or that have been buried deep within most of my life. Based on many New Covenant writings, but also many from the Old Testament, I've attempted to clarify these answers as straight forward as possible. I suspect this book will be a hard read for some as it may challenge many of the teachings and traditions they've held to their entire life. I do not profess that I am 100% right about everything without fault, but have only presented the truth as it has been revealed to me. From there, the reader can decide the relevance to their personal walk with God.
