Another is CIA agent Merc Magregor, who suffers from survivor guilt for having been a platoon leader in Afghanistan. The other is Peter dut James, a Dinka tribesman suffering with PTSD since his ordeal as a Lost Boy. The Good Doctor is the physician at the camp with his own dark secret. His stream-of-conscience narrative and perverted actions depict the ultimate hypocrite in need of the same transformation Omar avoids experiencing.
