This is a reproduction of the 2022 governmental report produced by the self-styled "Shadow Committee" of Republican Congressmen regarding security issues during the January 6, 2021 riot. Bloomberg News stated the GOP "released their long-promised counter-report to the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol assault, one that partly blames Democratic congressional leaders for security failures." It adds: "The 78-page report, with as many added pages of appendices and footnotes, declares itself a supplement to the June 2021 findings of a previous joint investigation by two Senate committees." The Daily Caller notes: "The lawmakers who released the report were appointed by GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to serve on the Jan. 6 Select Committee before being blocked by Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi." Instead of serving on the House Select Committee, they formed a "Shadow Committee," culminating in this response to the Select Committee's hearing statements, reports, and transcripts released over the week of December 19, 2022. Billy House, Congressional Reporter for Bloomberg News, tweeted December 21: "As the wait continues for today's planned release of the entire Jan. 6 committee report of its findings, GOP Reps. Jim Banks, Jim Jordan, Troy Nehls, Kelly Armstrong and Rodney Davis released a report on their investigation into the security failure at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6."This GOP report was released December 21 and totals 141 pages. The original was released in letter-size pages, but this reproduction in book form (in black and white) reduces the pages slightly to make it manageable and readable as a paperback, not as an ungainly memo. It maintains the original pagination so that it can be referenced.
