This quest takes her to Michael Brittain, an archbishop who is caught up in the Catholic Church´s scandalous problem with pedophilic priests. Not only that, but she becomes witness to a conspiracy hatched by David Carnes, a co-worker at Tennessee Valley Authority headquarters. Pat and her paramour, Dr. Trey Crockett, are involved in the web of events that lead to a blockbuster, suspenseful ending. To top it off, there is a surprise connection to the life of Merton.
