Secondhand Sins continues the saga of Molly Meyers and her husband, police chief Aaron Sharpe. A canyon west of the mountain community of Brown Bear City comes crashing down on the same morning Officer Sheila Smith is reported missing. Aaron can't help but wonder if someone copied a murder from years before when Loretta Comer was buried under a mountain of rock with a simple stick of dynamite. Some believe it was just an earthquake and Sheila was visiting her twin brother in the valley. But then, a series of events seem to be tied directly to the missing woman in spite of the distance. A body in a river, deathly ill Indians, and even Aaron's own mother, poisoned. About the time Aaron thinks he has a handle on the mysteries, he receives a box of photos. Without a doubt, they are pictures of his son, a son he knew nothing about. A son that should be thirteen, but the photos stop around age six. Is the boy alive? What has he to do with Sheila, the Indians, or the body in the river? Too many questions.
