This book is another exploration into cryptid animals. Those creatures who have been seen by hundreds maybe thousands but for which there is no concrete evidence. Science dismisses them as phantoms and vilifies any scientist who takes the pursuit seriously. But oh the possibilities! Enter the fearless reporters from Bloomington, Indiana. Justin, Belinda, et al to the number of eighteen head for the Galapagos Islands to retrace Darwin's footsteps. They break into two groups with one going on a fly over jungle tour and the other island hopping and gathering samples just like Darwin did. Well that was quite a clever plan...until things go wrong. The pilot of the tour plane is shot and Julieta has to land the plane then lead them out of a hostile environment. They run into crocodiles, poisonous snakes, leeches, eels and anacondas for a start. The others are kidnapped by a madman seeking revenge against the giant sharks (Megalodons) that killed his wife and son. He's been seeking the one Megalodon that he tagged before it attacked their boat. He uses people he has kidnapped over the years as bait to lure the beast within harpoon range. What is worse? Nature turned savage on people stuck in the jungle or a maniac on the ocean holding the power of life and death. Read Seeking Leviathan to find out.
