Kapitel 3 bietet zum Abschluss eine eingehende Darstellung von Dharmakirtis wichtigstem eigenem Beitrag zum Thema, seinem Nachweis, dass (der Glaube an) die Existenz eines Selbstes eine Erlosung unmoglich macht.
