About a year later, Tom, another engineering friend and employee of Johnson and Johnson volunteered to travel on a cruise with lonely Ed. While on a cruise, Ed jumped up and looked around when he heard a voice that sounded just like his late wife. Ed saw a table of beautiful young women drinking and laughing. As he was leaving the bar, he strolled slowly past their table and smiled and spoke to them. The next day, Ed was reading the paper on the sun deck when he noticed one of the beautiful tall young women strolling across the sun deck. Hearing the footsteps getting close to his chair, looked up and saw her smiling and making romantic eye contact with him. She stopped for a leisurely chat creating a scene that would last throughout the cruise and become a long relationship. Ed returns home, to tell Doris, his oldest married daughter, Jim, his married son, Mary and Nancy, his unmarried daughters about a new friend he met on the cruise. They thought this was wonderful for their lonely dad and asked about her. All is fine with the family and Ed visits his new friend in Washington D.C. and invites her to visit his home for the Thanksgiving Holliday. The families are making big plans for the annual holiday dinner and are anxiously waiting to meet Dad's new friend.
