Terror and death surround Peregrine Manor, and there's no escape! This time, the ghost hunting pair goes to Peregrine Manor located on Squall Island in Long Island Sound off New York. The dark, brooding mansion is the setting for a ghostly essence that's terrorizing sixty-nine year old Olivia Hetridge who hasn't left the island in over thirty years, and no one knows why. Olivia summons Emma and Aly to Peregrine Manor to learn who or what is terrorizing her home and also to learn the meaning behind a mysterious note she finds written by her daughter that she hasn't seen in over twenty years. The note simply states, I know what he did, so do they. Now they are coming for you. Olivia thinks the note refers to her French grandfather, Andre Badeau who built the sprawling manor on the island just after World War II. He was an evil man who she believes killed her mother in 1948. Olivia also believes it's her grandfather's essence haunting the house, but Emma and Aly learn there's more than just one ghost roaming the dark hallways of Peregrine Manor. One is a black shadow that haunts the third floor; another is the spirit of Olivia's mother who tells Emma that unless the meaning behind the puzzling note is solved, Olivia will die. And if she dies, then Emma and Aly will share her fate. This doesn't leave the ghost hunting pair much time. They need to learn who or what is behind the haunting of Peregrine Manor, and just who is coming for the woman and why before it's too late.
