Testimony: "For anyone who feels lost or confused; overwhelmed or hopeless; or frustrated because of psychiatric or physical difficulties, disorders, or obstacles, this fable shows that there can be light through the darkness; that with work, awareness, and the support of skilled professionals and loved ones, hope and possibility can open up again, and new paths be seen and followed. The future is there for even those who cannot yet see it, or lose sight when the highs turn to lows."- Tara G.In this clever fairytale in reverse, a prince named Tim, suffering from neglect, abandonment, bullying, and abuse, decides at a young age that he does not want to be a prince. He becomes friends with an intelligent and caring peasant girl, named Emma, and they grow up together. This love story is more than meets the eye. In the first fable, to date, that deals with a mental illness like PTSD and bipolar, Tim first falls into a depression and then into the phase known as mania, and becomes depressed again. His unethical and distant psychiatrist does not help much until Emma comes to the rescue. With empathy, games, care, and introducing the medicine Lithium, Tim eventually gets better. This short novel, though ostensibly for young adults with bipolar is really for many others. Those with schizophrenia, OCD, and ADD, for instance, will benefit as well. The same goes for anyone with a chronic medical condition or their loved ones. It will also offer Hope to anyone struggling with any difficulty whatsoever. This tale of redemption from misery into a good and happy life is inventive, unique, and whimsical. It was purposefully written in a simple language, light-hearted, and mischievous manner because it deals with serious subjects. Along with a gripping plot, and parts that seem right from a book by Roald Dahl, the work is an intriguing page-turner that can be read in one delightful sitting.
