Four years ago, a billion people dropped dead in an instant, and no one knows why. For the Brute, none of that matters. He can't even remember his real name. When his airship crashes in the middle of a wasteland, more commonly known as Florida, he finds a small group of survivors fighting off more than just the threat of starvation. The devastating world war has introduced a mutagenic virus that has turned all the dogs in Florida into mad beasts bigger, stronger, and more aggressive than wolves. The Ottomans have learned to use the virus to infect humans and create an army of berserk soldiers that will bring the whole world to submission. As the Brute seeks to discover who he is, he learns that he plays a bigger role in the war than he wants to, and now he may be the only one who can stop the Ottoman Empire from taking over the U.S. and the rest of the world.
