My main purpose in writing this book is to convey realistic methods of crisis prevention and mitigation that I have successfully used in over 70 serious situations for a wide variety of organizations, including service and manufacturing companies, state government, schools, restaurants, pharmaceutical companies, a hotel, a country club and an apparel retailer. The narrative portion of the book is partially fictional; however, the experiences within the narrative are taken from actual events. Only the names and locations have been changed to protect the identities of the parties involved. Many times, clients have come to me at the onset of a crisis, when they or their company have less than three months to survive. In some cases, clients have been unable to hire a regular turnaround consultant. I take them on if they agree to make available all information no matter how bad. I have always been able to save clients from their crisis situations.
