Description

The book is written and illustrated by the Indrerk family who owns a cabin in Merker, where they often find small stones, named troll tears, under very old trees in the Norwegian forest. The stones are taken back to the cabin and crystal necklaces are made out of the stones. Stump, the forest troll, and his magical tears is the fairy tale of how the troll lost his beautiful wife Viola, to the Swedish troll Jokke on their wedding day. All that was left of the bride, was her wedding veil. The veil turned to a waterfall and can still be seen today on the border between Norway and Sweden. Viola managed to trick Jokke to be released, and the tears of joy that viola and stump cried when reunited was cried out of true love. Stump tried to hide their tears under the trees of the forest, but after many years, the tears crystallised to stones, and can be found inside the Norwegian forest.
