Description

Tunnel Hill, Georgia, the mid-fifties. After high school, George enters an automobile mechanics school, where he meets his best friend, Jim Trent. Upon completion of the course, George is employed as an automobile mechanic by the local Lincoln-Ford dealer. But, due to an accident resulting in the death of his sisters husband, George flees, feeling that he might be charged with murder. He takes a job with an oil company in Saudi Arabia for as a mechanic, but due to terrorist actions, he is released. Back in Tunnel Hill, George starts his own business in his old garage, incorporating many high-tech improvements and hiring his old friend, Jim Trent, as shop manager. After much success, the charming and knowledgeable George turns to politics and wins election after election, becoming Governor of Georgia and finally Senator. But Georges past comes back to haunt him. Is his brother-in-laws death so long ago really Georges fault? Will the death be deemed a tragic accident, or will Georges illustrious career and life of freedom and power come crashing down around him?
