My mirror came to me in the form a woman. A very fit, blonde, blue eyed, and originally Russian. Viktoriya had seen more of life than I had ever imagined. Viktoriya had imagined the un-imaginable and achieved it. She is still is doing all those things that us mere observers have yet to have the courage to understand or commit to. I engaged. I pandered. And in the end, Viktoriya showed me who I really was. I was crushed. I was heartbroken and the tears would not stop. I wanted to commit suicide. In the car I would wail. In the shower I would buckle and cry. In the aftermath, I would steel my nerves with antianxiety medication and long, long walks around Newcastle city. From the house my parents owned to the city, to the beach and anywhere in between. I needed to be occupied, I needed to be tired. The construction workers would be listening to a sad some song on the radio (Dean Lewis - Be Alright), and I would want to stop and physically break down on the grass verge and go no further.I needed to reconcile with best person I had ever meet.So, what was reflected in my mirror? How did it take so many years for me to see the person I was, and how did that one person figure me out so quickly and show me what I was lacking?Is this a love story? Yes. For me absolutely. For her, I can only guess that I was company for a short period of time, and that amounted to 9 months of wonder, snoring, emotional rollercoasting, photography, Salsa, camping, trekking, long drives and fitness. Awesome!
