This book is a bio of the life of my grandfather William K Gunderson Sr. He was in part a brutal and cruel man, but also capable of moments of kindness. Growing up in the streets of 1940s-era Brooklyn, he eventually married my Italian-American grandmother and the couple had three sons, one of whom is my own father. In addition to being the son of a Norwegian immigrant and a Maine-born Irish lass, my grandfather had a very complicated family life that played a part in making him the man that he became. This story has a lot to it and connects with American history as well as Italian and Irish/French Canadian histories respectively. There is even a genealogical aspect to the book as well that those interested in their own family trees might like to observe and take note of. Hope you enjoy it!
