Edward Brooking is a hot shot insurance agent who only cares about himself and does not think about the needs of his wife and family. Around three o'clock in the morning, Edward Brooking receives a telephone call again, after answering it every morning around this same time, only to hear no response. This particular morning, there was a man's voice on the other end. He quoted a line from Edwards's favorite movie, The Godfather, "I am going to make you an offer you cannot refuse." Edward was puzzled as he listened to what the man had to say. He reluctantly took Him up on his offer. At his Uncle William's cabin, where he was scheduled to meet the man, Edward discovered a startling revelation of who the man was. He was God! God told Edward that he wanted to trade places with him for a certain period of time. Though not fully understanding, he accepted God's offer. As Edward's powers grew, God revealed to him that it was time to receive the authority of Heaven and His Holy Spirit. Now, being transfigured from mortal to immortal, Edward was not, just like God, he was God. After his transformation, Edward now operated in his new found power. He saw and heard every person on Earth. Edward answered prayers, raised the dead, and healed the sick with his powers. However, he sat in the ICU ward, powerless, as he watched cancer eat away at his wife, Carla. Then Christ came and let Edward see his old life and how he treated his wife and kids. Christ challenged Edward's faith, to show that only faith in "Him" would save his wife. Also that faith in Christ is the ultimate key to the things in life.
