Description

Millie Robinson has the ability to extend her imagination out into the world so other people can enjoy it too. This ability is called: Imagination Projection. In this adventure, Millie's best friend Allie, is being bullied by some kids in her school. In order to help Allie learn how to deal with the bullies, Millie takes Allie to Peninki Land. It's a wonderful place that's right out of Millie's imagination. Millie and Allie have a great time exploring and riding snow mobiles and hanging out with their imaginary friends. That is, until the bullies show up. Together, with their new friends, Millie and Allie must learn to deal with the bullies in Peninki Land and then, take that knowledge to the real-world. The idea behind the Millie Robinson series is to introduce children to reading and understanding more complex themes through a simple reading exercise. Parents will read the books to their children for the story and then, the children will read it themselves to improve their vocabulary. Although the subject matter is more for elementary children, the reading level is at or above junior high. This allows for children to grow into the books and learn as they go. I remember when I was learning to read, I would intentionally look for books with words I didn't understand. I enjoyed going to the dictionary to look them up. In this series, I've italicized those more difficult words and put their definitions in the back so that young readers can have the same enjoyment I did. With the world's vocabulary degrading into the use of one word to describe all things, it's comforting to know that type of crass language doesn't need to spread to our children.
