Description

Would you believe Noah's Flood occurred over 14,000 years ago?! 14,700 years ago as the ice age was ending, cascading ice sheets from Antarctica caused a mega-tsunami which carried Noah northwest along the Tigris-Euphrates flood plain into southeastern Turkey. He landed near the present archeological site of Gobekli Tepe. This site may be as much as 14,000 years old and is only a few miles from the ancient town of Urfa which claims to be Abraham's birthplace. Agriculture was also born in this same region. It is amazing how well the scientific data presented in this book fits with Genesis and ancient stories such as the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh and the older Babylonian epic of Atra-Hasis. If you think you know Noah's story then you should read this book. The evidence is overwhelming that there was a world-wide catastrophe known as the Deluge (Noah's Flood). Strong evidence is presented to support the hypothesis that Noah's flood occurred about 14,700 years ago in southern Mesopotamia. As the Earth exited the glacial maximum of the last ice age, a series of mega tsunamis were generated in the Indian Ocean by collapsing ice shelves along the eastern face of Antarctica. The resulting flood waters carried some of the ancient Sumerians living in southern Mesopotamia northwest along the Tigris-Euphrates river plains where they were deposited near the entrance to the Plain of Harran. Survivors eventually constructed religious temples about 14,000 years ago such as the one at Gobekli Tepi which overlooks the plain. While there are hundreds of flood stories from around the world, the focus is on the Deluge that appears in the Old Testament and is known as Noah's Flood. Ancient stories such as the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh and the older Babylonian Atra-hasis epic are compared and contrasted with Noah's Flood in Genesis. Several hypotheses are discussed such as the one proposed by Ryan and Pittman; the one by Dr. Masse; and the hypothesis by the late Zecharia Sitchin that has been updated by the author.
