Francis Howard Spear (1902-79) was a pupil of M Travers at the Royal College of Art and his early glass was made at the Glass House (see under Lowndes and Drury), which he gave as his address on first appearing in KD/L between 1938 and 1941. He also lived and worked in Edgware and after World War II in and around Reigate, Surrey. His work is largely in that county, in Guildford cathedral among others.
