The Teacher's Survival Handbook gives new teachers, both regular and special education, a handbook of survival tips on handling student disruptions in the classroom. This book is a teacher's manual for surviving both mild and severe student disruptions. Topics such as teacher attitude, causes of disruptions, specific techniques, and real life examples of how to prevent and handle disruptive behavior will be covered. This book will help both the beginning and the seasoned teacher in managing disruptive behavior in the classroom. Very few teachers are educated on specific techniques of how to handle student disruptions in the classroom. Even circumstances such as students carrying weapons are not included in teacher training. At present, a teacher's only resource is learning through experience. Being a masters level special education teacher for several years, she has taught all levels of disabilities, behaviors, and ages using these behavioral management techniques. These techniques work. Martha Ainsworth is a certified teacher with a masters level degree in Special Education.
