The story line of this book is surrounded in tragedy and despair. The main core of it is the battle of survival in extreme conditions, suffering and despair. To find yourself in the situation where your flesh is freezing and you can see everywhere bodies and people in desolation and in pain is something that could happen to you only in a nightmare, but unfortunately this is what happened to a group of friends that left Romania in to expedition in the eastern part of Russia only to find themselves trapped in a hell of ice and snow, a daring situation on which only the strong ones can survive. Their airplane crushes in the middle of the frozen hell and they will have to fight against their daring fate and to survive against all odds.In order to survive they will have to make dangerous choices that will put them and everyone around them in danger. It is about life, death and suffering. They will have to battle against freezing temperatures, pack of hungry wolves and bears to survive, but for their survival they will not only loose a few fingers, they will have to live behind their loved ones and to try to live with the guilt for the rest of their life. It's about a promise that the main hero of this story made to his daughter and his loved ones; to come back home unharmed and in order to keep his promise he will have to fight, he will have to suffer, to drop a lot of tears and blood, to go through broken bones and flesh, being hunted down and attacked by the wolves on many occasions, but nothing will stay against his desire to be back to his family, to see his lovely girl growing up and to be able to hold her and his wife in his arms for one more time. This tragedy will change his life and the other survivals of the airplane crush forever, they will never forget it, it will hunt their dreams in the night for the rest of their lives, all their nights will be covered in frozen fear, cold sweats and regrets that will change them forever.The book is trying to teach us a life lesson, to make us understand that; if you find yourself surrounded by dead bodies and people in pain after and airplane crush and you are the only one capable to make a difference and to save their lives, you have to man up and do it and if you made a promise to your loved ones that you will come back home unharmed and take your team with you, than be ready to fight the cold, the misery, the wild predators in search for an easy meal, you need to put all your faith in yourself and to fight even with the devil himself in order to keep your promise, to pray to God to be on your side and guide you towards the light of this dark tunnel. Our hero did this and he survived because he was willing to give his best to adapt to the situation and to push forward towards his reunion with his family.
