This is a book about a Southern redneck young boy who was raised next to the backwoods in a poor dysfunctional family, with an alcoholic father and an unloving mother, who was sent away from home right out of grammar school and had to learn how to make it in the world on his own. The book is titled "Transmogrified," because in story after story in his book, he tells how he was affected and impacted by challenging, outrageously funny, and sometime mystical situations, while studying difficult science and engineering courses at Georgia Tech and working at his Co-Op and bartending jobs, to pay his way through college. Some of his stories also tell of the hardships that he endured and the obstacles that he had to overcome that tested him emotionally and intellectually to the fullest. After finally earning an Engineering degree from Georgia Tech, he then overcame the difficulties that prevented him from marrying the young girl that he loved. This book shows young people, who may be facing life on their own who are in a similar situation, especially those from poor families, how they too can face the world alone and go on to enjoy a loving, happy and successful life. This is a great book for young people who can't afford to go to college, or for those who don't want to borrow sums of money to pay for it. It's also an eye-opening book for those more fortunate kids, who had it easy going through college, because it shows them what they missed by not paying their own way. This book also illustrates to young boys and girls who are trying to plan for their own future, some of what they may face out in the world and how they need to have faith in God, self-reliance, internal fortitude and persistence, in order to get ahead in life.
