Description

Somewhere in the space-time the Latin poet Virgil and the Italian poet Dante meet again, after almost seven hundred years, for starting a new journey on the universe of human vices and virtues. As a matter of fact, since the first scene of the First Act they will travel together through the hell of desperation.Virgil will lead Dante Alighieri, as a guide, across the space-time, through as many different levels of the human vices, as many centuries have passed by from their first journey. Virgilio offers Dante a new journey. With his time machine they will be able to travel through time, going back to 1321, the year of the death of the great poet. The two poets, in the prologue, have a long discussion. Virgil explains to Dante that with his machine he can take him to any point in the time-space; from that date they can go up to the present day. After a Prologue, in the first scene, they decide together from which date to start their journey; Virgil explains to Dante that, thanks to his time's machine they can start their trip from whatever he wants. After asking his mentor a lot of information about his relatives and many people from the 14th, the 15th and the 16th centuries, Dante, realizing that almost all the people is interested to meet is in paradise, chooses to start with the seventeenth century. They start seeing the Holy Inquisitors processing Galileo Galilei in a trial that seems really a farce, if the Devils of Loudun didn't appear to process the false sellers of truth. In the 18th century they meet twelve horrible dwarves who are dealing with Robespierre and other French revolution men; In the 19th century the great men of industry are processed for their iniquities while in the 20th century we find some relevant personalities like Reverend Jones, The Family, various serial killers, and a lot of bad people who deserved the sentence of hell for the evil done in the earth. The terrible law of retaliation and counterpass hits all the people they meet in this journey of desperation. The author imagines and shows all badness and evil has happened in the world since Dante dead up to our present day. So, he shows to his readers murderers, suicides, marauders, spendthrifts, usurers, buggers and the worst sinners of the contemporary world. They also meet the blasphemous Censors, a large group of people that in life were judges, legislator and priests of all religions; waiting for a firing group to come and get the task to shout in the mouth to all free thinkers all over the world they will sit in the armchairs. Although they can't meet all the bad people who acted on the earth in the seven centuries Dante has left his body, Virgil shows to his pupil a lot bad men, lost in the world of perennial troubles and aches. In the land of repentance of purgatory Dante and Virgil meet other people, naturally not so bad to deserve the hell, but not so good to go straight away to paradise. Finally, at the third level, Dante eventually meets Beatrice who will lead him to the true love shore of Paradise.
