No justice means no peace. Two murders plague the mind of a gay, East African child slave, Kabwe, years after they are witnessed aboard the slave ship Africana in 1400s Europe. Years later, Kabwe and his siblings find themselves adopted by a couple in Romania. A mysterious black orb is the singular focus of that nation's king which is the key to unlocking immortal beasts eternally imprisoned on a floating island of fire. In exchange to find the orb, Zandar made the Romanian king's ascension to power possible through a deadly coup of the throne. A group of earthly protectors at Kriliad--under the guidance of a thousand-year-old former African queen, Marilena--are the ones that hid the orb in an attempt to counterbalance evil. Along this journey of salvation, the twice orphaned child must choose to confront the dark, demonic serpent of his past in order to safeguard the very light of his own future.
