After more than fifty years, new and explosive information is beginning to emerge from Presidential library files and CIA confidential records. Americans never knew what was happening in Vietnam and neither did the men who were on the ground doing the fighting and dying. Discipline became almost non-existent and fragging became a major issue as back home the United States approached a state of near revolution. The young were not willing to risk their lives for a cause they did not understand nor believe in. "Vietnam Exposed" traces the story from its beginning with the Catholic French planters and peasant slavery to the fight for their independence which led to the incursion of the communist agitators. The people of French Indochina were not communists. They were slaves of the Catholic Church trying to secure their freedom. They followed the leader who offered the best opportunity. America sided with the French exploiters and the peasants sided with the communists who offered them an opportunity to break free. America did not stop the spread of communism, it aided and abetted it by flawed policies and inept leadership. This book exposes all the flaws and mistakes which were perpetrated by our politicians with flawed logic and advice who did not know or understand history or try to find peaceful paths to a solution. We have seen a repetition in Iraq, Afghanistan and now spreading throughout the Far East as our flawed and ill advised actions have put us back in the same defensive posture of fighting a war which cannot be won but only agitate and inflame a large portion of the earth's population. This is the book which will allow you a much clearer understanding of why our attempts at spreading democracy are so often failures and do much more harm than good. America is the dream of much of the people of the world but it has its flaws in trying too hard to be all things to all people. What works for Americans is not the best solution for the rest of the world and we must understand that before we go too far and lose it all.
