Christine Parker's life has been ruined and tormented for over three decades. She soon realises she is not alone and that her perpetrator Richard Ellis has spun a massive web and ensnared many others into it, including his beautiful wife Helen Ellis and his cousin Madge Holland. Whilst sex is very much on Richard's mind, control is what he craves. Set over three decades on a large council estate in Manchester. 1970's starts with Christine being savagely raped and then almost being the victim of a brutal murder. As she tries to get on with her life working in the local bakery and having nights out at 'The Golden Garter' she realises 'he' is never far away. 1980's Helen's life is in turmoil when she realises what Richard is and tries to get in touch with Christine to warn her, not knowing all the while Madge Holland is being held captive at the hands of her husband. 1990's Christine's youngest daughter is also subjected to the hands of Richard Ellis; she confronts him for the first time causing all sorts of complications. 'You can abuse a mother all her life but never lay a hand on her children.' The three women form a bond so strong that together they unite to overcome the web he has spun. However, he refuses to be entangled in his own thread. It is only when Madge and Christine's daughter, Ella and Bess along with their friend Nessa Brown are reunited back with their old enemy Peter Lawrence. The day is saved....again. This time, it is not Richard Ellis they are dealing with. They already did that. It's his son....... Are they strong enough to do it all again? They have to do it...... They owe it to the 'Dark Angel' who gave every one of them hope, hope to live free of the evil born from the devil's spawn. 'When you can feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, hope is the beautiful angel who will help you with your heavy load' Oh and me, I'll be here carrying what I can ....with hope'
