After serving in the U.S.A.F. he was graduated from Asbury College, in Wilmore Kentucky, with a bachelor of Arts degree. While serving four Methodist Churches he attended and was graduated from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He pastored Methodist and United Methodist Churches for forty years before retiring in 1997. He is married to the former Margaret Vandine, also of Steubenville. The Georges have three children, seven grand children and one great grand son.
