Description

From the end of the Second World War to today, almost a century, a lot has changed in humanity, namely: The means of communication and movement improved, and the production of raw materials for basic necessities and food increased. Many discoveries have been made that help man increase his life expectancy on the planet. "An Adventure in the Mediterranean" is a biographical, autobiographical book, historiography. This historiography refers to actual events that occurred in the last hundred years, beginning in the year nineteen twenty-three. It begins by describing biographical events from the village where a family lived, the family of Anastasi Karozis at the time of 1925, and historically from the start of World War II and beyond. The main hero of the book is a "father" named "Nikos Karozis" who from a young age worked to support his family, from the age of twelve, when the father of Anastasis Karozis died. Due to the Second World War and the enslavement of Greece by the Germans, at the age of seventeen, he participated, in and helped to transport eighteen officers of the Greek Army from the shores of Attica to Alexandria, Egypt, where other Greek soldiers were also located, in the War, the Battle of El Alamein, in the 1944 Royal Navy campaign at Alexandria. He participated in the Allied Landings in Italy and the Battle of Rimini, as well as at the end of the war, in the pursuit of the last cores of the enemy by escorting convoys carrying food and supplies for the civilian population and the revival of the old Naval Commands which they would help establish the new Greek Administration. Also, he participated in the peaceful reconciliation of the Greeks, since the civil war that arose after the liberation lasted essentially for at least five years, without until today the real truth of the events has been restored to the Greek people. Today's big problem that this book tries to solve is the reader's ignorance of the reasons the Greeks were driven to civil war and their possible self-destruction. One Greek was killing another Greek, his fellow countryman, for no real reason other than the foolish belief that his fellow countryman had the only option to kill him. The period of approximately seventy-five years from the civil war to the present day may summarize the collective memory and tradition of a historical era, but it does not clarify the reasons that led the Greeks to the National Divide. The Greeks had planned everything related to liberation. They had it all planned out until the release came. Until then, everything was good, everything was honey - milk, they were all comrades, patriots, and above all people, real fellow human beings. But they had not planned their future. They had not organized, they did not know "what would happen", "what they would do" after liberation. And this happened, the liberation came and then the civil war, because, while they had planned everything for the liberation, except the liberation itself!. Conclusion: "We have a duty to draw up a realistic, a real plan for success and execute it when faced with it." Because the most serious accident that can happen to us is when we conquer success, without having planned its future. There is a strong, almost hysterical demand both on our part and on the part of all people in the world, societies, sometimes, to fill our pockets with money. Giannis Karozis, throughout his life, made great efforts to penetrate the character and socialize with all kinds of people he met in front of him so that he could get to know real events in life. From a small child at the age of four, he began to make an "adventurous search for knowledge" by associating, hanging out not only with those who liked him but also with everyone else, that is, with the people who disliked him.
