As he makes camp, Chase eavesdrops on a group of riders and learns of their planned robbery of a large silver shipment coming from a mine near the Josephine Mine of John C. Fremont. He is powerless to stop the crime and the silver ore vanishes. Chase is determined to help discover what has happened to the ore, and bring the thieves to justice.
