The IAFOR Journal of Education is an internationally reviewed and editorially independent interdisciplinary journal associated with IAFOR's international conferences on education. The anticipated audience is preservice and inservice teachers and administrators, university faculty and students, education policy makers, and others interested in educational research. This issue, dedicated to the late Chairman of IAFOR, Professor D. B. Picken, has nine papers covering topics that include: adult learners' academic performance in higher education; discrimination in education; assessing metacognitive awareness; coaching and changes in an organisation it leads to; gamification for self-assessment; creating an "international communication lounge"; the creative process learning in computer game activities; mindful learning in an English class; and bilingualism.
