Pitfall: Tricks, the elf, has a boyfriend. Or, so she says. His name is Janoma and Stephen takes an instant dislike to him. He's not the only one, because Zenith, the beloved pet wolf of Tricks, also appears to share Stephen's distrust of the interloper. Of course, when I say 'Stephen', I really mean 'Stephens' because there are now two of them, if you can believe such a thing. Phil, the bioengineering genius, has found a way to install Stephen into two identical fairy clones instead of just the one. Talk about doubling your fun because he can now be with the perennially gorgeous Tracey, as well as the beautiful Thorn at the same time. How lucky can one person be? But things aren't all roses in the garden because Janoma unexpectedly suggests a wilderness trip, causing Stephen to wonder about his ulterior motives. Exactly what is he up to here? An ancient secret the group stumble upon on their trek is both surprising and disturbing, leading to all sorts of personal revelations, some welcome and others not. And there's another problem. Will Stephen become a full-time fairy now or remain a human? Where do his loyalties ultimately lie? What would you decide to do if it was you? The Vile: Stephen is supremely happy with his two fairy lovers but let's face it, who wouldn't be? The fact that it's all possible thanks to his being uploaded into two identical fairy clones is neither here nor there. But something is amiss in this idyllic world. Zenith, the beloved pet wolf of Tricks, has run away and everybody is asking why. The answer to this mystery is as simple as it is compelling. But will Zenith ever come back home to his grieving owner? And that's not the only problem on the horizon. Is the horrific history of the dreaded Vile invasions to be repeated? The Vile - a nation of crazed, merciless demons who ravaged the underground civilizations generations ago in an orgy of blood and fire. But are they about to reappear to continue where they left off? It's up to Stephen and his companions to discover the truth and that truth turns out to be as astonishing as it is disturbing. They barely escape with their lives and have to carry their unsettling discovery back to the fairy settlement. But one thing is for sure. The whole fairy history will have to be rewritten. And what will become of Zenith? His solution to that situation is both heart-warming and totally unexpected.
